A good power cage needs to fit into a tightly knit set of pre-established traits, in order to provide you with the best possible workout. Durability, safety and affordability all have a role to play, and the 810XLT Super Max from Fitness Reality almost has it all.
Read on, as we review every detail of this state of the art power cage.
Fitness Reality really gave their best and went a step further, which is all reflected in the efficiency of the 810XLT. With such a formidable range of options and adaptability, this power cage is perfectly designed for home use. In a way, it can serve as a good substitute for a home gym, as the number of exercises and equipment that can be used is vast.
Where this cage excels are the numerous additions that really make it stand out. The designers made clever use of the supporting cross bars, utilizing the upper one as a pull up bar, and the lower one as a raised pushups bar.
The 810XLT Power Cage came second in our round up article of the best squat racks with pullup bars. Whilst narrowly missing the top spot the 810XLT still has a lot to offer.
The outer frame comes equipped with two chrome safety bars for holding your Olympic bar, as well as two additional chrome locks that are perfect when doing squats. Moreover, the frame is equipped with astonishing 19 height levels, giving you an absolute freedom in designing your exercises, as well as an option to install certain modules.
The 810XLT gives you an option to do squats, bent over rows, overhead press, bench press, pull ups, and a variety of other exercises.

Build and Assembley
Features
Of course, a power cage of such versatility needs to be efficiently constructed and above all sturdy. With a 2” x 2” steel frame construction, strengthened connection points, and rubber padded base, this cage is very robust and durable. On top of that, it has an amazing weight capacity of 800 lbs (363 kg), which really speaks volumes about the quality of manufacture here.
One troubling issue for most power cages is the weight capacity, which is often low and results in too much swaying and overall instability. But with the 810XLT Super Max, stability is of no issue and movements are next to none.
Although the number of parts that the 810xlt super max power Cage comes in is a little daunting as you can see from the video below it is fairly straightforward to put together.
The only thing I would add is it can be helpful to have an additional person to assist with the assembling the power rack and also build it in the location you are intending to use it.

Summary
Having reviewed many bad power cages on the markets it become easy to spot the good ones. The 810XLT is a good solid cage with a great deal of versatility.
Whilst there are cheaper cages on the market I would recommend to pay the little extra to get a product that is going to last.
